Musical Directors

kevinKevin J. Giroux, Conductor

Mr. Giroux is in his 24th year as the Choral Director at Tri-Valley Central School, located in Grahamsville, NY. Previous to his tenure at Tri-Valley, Mr. Giroux taught for two years at Saranac Lake Central School. His instructional duties at Tri-Valley include a 9-12 chorus, Music Theory, an extra-curricular Select Ensemble, 7-12 voice lessons, and 7th grade general music class.

Mr. Giroux is a very active member of his school community. His previous advisorships include: co-advisor of the Tri-Valley yearbook, co-advisor of Tri-Valley’s Chapter of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), and former Entertainment Director of Grahamsville’s Little World’s Fair. Currently, he is co-advisor of the National Honor Society, as well as co-coordinator of graduation.  In addition, he holds leadership positions as a the HS Humanities Curriculum Coordinator, a member of the Building Leadership Team, and is a Building Union Representative for the Tri-Valley Teachers’ Association (TVTA).  Mr. Giroux is very supportive of his students’ athletic endeavors, and can be seen at many of their events cheering them on, or working on the sidelines.

Mr. Giroux’s outside music activities include serving as a NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) All State Chorus Chairperson (2020-2021), All State solo adjudicator, and previous Zone 9 Representative (Greene, Sullivan, Ulster, Orange, and Rockland Counties), Past-President and current Treasurer of the Sullivan County Music Educators Association, Conductor of the Sullivan County Community Chorus, and church organist at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Woodbourne.

A native of Plattsburgh, NY, Mr. Giroux received his Bachelors of Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam in 1996, and his Masters in Music Education from Ithaca College in 2002.


KeiraKeira Weyant, Accompanist

Mrs. Weyant received her Music Education degree from Ithaca College in 2000 as a piano major. She spent five years at Roscoe Central School as the Vocal Director where she could combine her love of music with her love for teaching children.

Mrs. Weyant now stays home with her young children, and continues to teach private piano lessons, something she has done for more than 20 years. She has accompanied various All-County Festivals, musicals, NYSSMA Solo Festivals, and choral programs. Mrs. Weyant is also a member of the worship team at MSBF Ministries, and recently performed a recital for children at the Daniel Pierce Library called “Classics For Kids.”

Mrs. Weyant currently resides in Grahamsville, NY with her husband and their four children. She has been a member of Sullivan County Community Chorus for six years and looks forward to many more years with this wonderful ensemble!
